Kooperativa Krusha, Fahrije Hoti’s ‘baby’ became a worldwide story to be heard.
After the war in Kosovo 1999, Fahrije Hoti returned to her village of Krusha e Madhe in the Municipality of Rahovec in Kosovo. Her husband who is part of the disappeared persons killed in the village’s massacre was no longer there to provide for her and her two young children and the parents of her husband.
Facing the necessity of income, she decided to use the fields to plant peppers and make ‘ajvar’ a traditional condiment, along with other widowed wives of the village, becoming role models regarding post-war trauma.
Today, Fahrije is one of the most successful women in Kosovo, after who, ‘Hive’ movie was produced, entailing the whole story.
Stories as inspiring as such are proudly told to everyone, but emphasized here: students in Kosovo and not only, especially those of Economics, so that they can be motivated to use everything nature provides and make it a story of success, contributing from the land, to the land, for the land.
