Last Saturday myself and my sister decided on a bit of a whim to go to Kew Palace and Garden’s winter offering, #KewChristmas. Kew Palace is the only Royal Historic Palace I haven’t visited yet and was waiting for summer to come round to tick it from my list, however with the magic of Christmas heading towards us we decided to tease ourself with attending this wintery trail.
I have to say I was really impressed! As a general rule being a Disney world kid can ruin experiences such as these, us brit’s just don’t do it as they do in the USA, but this was an exception. The whole trail way so beautiful and majestic that it really was like being in a winter fairy tale!
So what is #KewChristmas? Essentially it is a dark trail through Kew Gardens with different areas stunningly lit with different activities and attractions along the way. There’s amazing light and projection shows set to music, a spooky tower with smoke escaping from it ( very Hansel and Gretel), a Santa’s grotto, a mistletoe corner, live performers, marshmallow toasting pits, a vintage funfair, dancing fire and more. I was blown away by the lighting design and it defiantly put me in the Christmas spirit. Honestly, it’s great for adults, children, couples, everyone! If you find yourself near London this Christmas I defiantly recommend #KewChristmas!
What’s putting you in the festive spirit this year?
