A Week in the Lake District

Over a month ago I was lucky enough to spend a week at my boyfriend’s parent’s house, situated in a gorgeous picturesque village near Barrow-in-Furness and Ulverston.  Looking at the weather this week it seems like a lifetime ago already, but I thought I’d share some pics to show you guys what I got up to.

Fair warning, there are a lot of photos to follow that were actually just taken for myself rather than the blog.  It’s like this is just an excuse to share my holiday snaps or something….

We did so much in these nine days, including riding a steam train, getting lost in a maize maze, swinging through the trees at Go Ape and visiting the Transport Museum and the Beatrix Potter museum.   I even had a go at kayaking after much nervousness and persuasion and actually enjoyed it!  I think I need to remind myself of that next time I get anxious about trying new things. I ate lots of home-made puddings and played some hilarious games that aren’t always appropriate to play with your in-laws.  I had a fantastic time in the Lake District and I hope we can do it again next year, I really want to find Beatrix Potter’s farm.
