People are opting for staycations in 2020 due to the pandemic and these can certainly be a great alternative to a typical holiday, with there being many places all over the UK to visit. For those in the capital, there are a handful of destinations not too far away which are ideal for a staycation and will help you to unwind and recharge after what has been a difficult few months for all.

Bath

Bath is perfect for a staycation because it has a bit of everything, including a very pretty town centre, lots of history and culture and being surrounded by natural beauty. In fact, the entire city is a World Heritage site and there is a cool, laid back atmosphere which makes it well-suited to those looking to relax.

Cambridge

Another historic UK city, Cambridge is incredibly beautiful and there is much more to do than simply check out the colleges (although this is certainly a highlight). Putting on the River Cam is a must and as a small town it is perfect simply for a leisurely stroll and taking in the many sights.
