Getting post can be tedious, with junk mail, bills and adverts aplenty it can be a hard thing to get excited about. But sweet treats delivered directly through my letter box? Sign me up! This is what Chummys Bakery specialises in, they are one of the UK’s market leaders in baked goods and they can send their brownies, cookies, blondies and more throughout the country to land directly on your doormat. They recently kindly sent me one of their postal brownies boxes to try out, so here are my thoughts:

The first thing I noticed upon arrival is just how cute the packaging is! Packed well enough to protect the brownies in the postal process yet without lots of unnecessary plastic packaging these arrived perfectly in their eco-friendly packaging and the paper wrapping and hand-tied string was such a cute touch, making it perfect for gifting.

You can choose from a mixed brownie box, where you can select 6 of your own desired flavours, or go for the popular brownie box best sellers, containing their 6 most popular flavours, (both are £15.50 a box) which is what I received. These six flavours are Lotus Biscuit, Ferrero Rocher, triple chocolate, Nutella, Salted Caramel and Kinder Bueno and let me tell you I can see why they are the most popular! If any of those don’t take your fancy then with the mixed box you can choose any of these plus Snickers, Chocolate Orange, Mars, original, Mine Areo and Oreo. Both can be upgraded to a 12 box if you fancy a little more sweetness in your life. The brownies last 2 weeks if stored well so there is plenty of time to dig in if you can resist the pull to eat them all at once!

Now let’s get into the really important part, the taste! Each of the 6 brownies I taste tested (all in the name of science obviously) has the perfect combination of crunchy outside and gooey middle. They were all super chocolaty without being too sweet, and that comes from someone with a serious sweet tooth! My favourite flavour was probably the salted caramel or the Kinder Bueno as I loved how the liquidy flavours combined into the brownies. The instructions also mentioned that you could microwave them for a few seconds to make them taste their best and after my first couple I tried this and let me tell you THIS WAS A GAME CHANGER! The gooey middle became even softer and squishy and the flavour was so much more enhanced, that I don’t think I’d have brownies any other way again!

If brownies aren’t your jam don’t forget Chummys Bakery also offers cookies, blondies, rocky road and Bronuts (a mixture of donut and brownie) that can all be delivered through the post in a wide range of flavours. Personally, I’m dying to try out the blondies next as these are some of my all-time favourites. They make the perfect gifts too as you can send them across the country and know they will arrive safely through their letterbox without having to worry about when the recipient will be in to receive them. They even have seasonal boxes if you want to send someone something special for Christmas or Easter. Postal brownies make the best way to let someone know you are thinking about them.
What is your favourite flavour of brownie?
